FRIENDLY WARNINGS
ARE ADDRESSED TO
RESPECTABLE YOUNG WOMEN
DO NOT enter into Conversation with Strangers in Railway Stations or Carriages, Steamboats, or other Public Places.
NEVER accept Presents from a Stranger.
NEVER allow a Stranger to treat you to Drink (it may be drugged).
DO NOT follow the guidance of a Stranger. Enquire of a Railway Porter or Policeman.
NEVER go alone to strange Lodging-houses. Better stop at Railway Waiting-rooms. The Police can generally recommend you to a respectable house.
NEVER go alone to answer an Advertisement, or to apply for a Situation. Take some safe friend with you.
IN ANY DIFFICULTY,
Apply to the POLICE; or, if Abroad, to the BRITISH CONSUL. If on board ship, put yourself under the protection of the CAPTAIN.
