Miss M. Sutherland,
Labour Party,
Transport House,
Smith Square,
LONDON, S.W.1.
Dear Miss Sutherland,
International Solidarity Fund.
In accordance with the arrangements made on the telephone yesterday. I enclose cheque for £1,000 from the International Solidarity Fund, which is operated by the International Federation of Trade Unions and the Labour and Socialist International, for the Spanish Relief Committee under the auspices of the Standing Joint Committee of Industrial Women's Organisations.
In discussion with other British officials of the Fund. I have thought it desirable that this cheque should be sent to your Fund with a view to the amount being spent on ready-made woollen goods (which can be purchased wholesale at the C.W.S.) for despatch to our fellow Trade Unionists and Socialists in Spain before Christmas. I am hoping the early despatch of the goods will be found possible as the need must be very great.
Yours sincerely,
Joint Secretary.
