Dear Miss Adams,
Some days ago I sent you a draft Appeal and an explanatory memorandum on the Appeal of the National Committee of Spanish Women for support for their schemes for colonies for orphaned refugee children.
I appreciate that the events of the last week have tended to distract attention from Spain but the need remains urgent and we are anxious to launch our appeal as soon as possible. Signatories to date include :
Eleanor Rathbone, M.P. Ellen Wilkinson, M.P.
Mrs. Pethick-Lawrence Mrs. J.B. Priestley
Lady Layton Isabel Fry
Mrs. G.D.H. Cole Mrs. J.F. Horrabin
Dr. Helen Jardine Dr. Janet Vaughan
Sylvia Townsend Warner Mrs. Winifred Carritt
Miss Monica Whateley L.C.C. Margery Fry
Mrs. Leah Manning Dr. Margaret Deas
We should be very glad to hear at your early convenience whether we may add your name.
Yours sincerely,
Isobel Brown
