The following dispatch has been received from the Direccion General de Abastecimientos (Ministry of Supplies) in Barcelona, and I have pleasure in passing on the information to you in case it should be helpful.
"As the harvest of potatoes in loyal Republican territory has started and the crop is abundant, we should be glad if you would advise those organizations who so generously send potatoes as a donation to Spain to send in their stead any kind of vegetable or other eatable."
