LONDON, S.W.1.
Dear Sirs,
We beg to refer to our letter of tne 22nd instant, relative to your order of the 21st instant, in respect of foodstuffs for despatch to Barcelona via Le Havre.
As already intimated, we have placed this order into work and are effecting earliest possible shipment, probably towards the end of this week, or early next week.
In placing the order with our various works, for the goods enumerated, we have acted on the assumption that the values mentioned in your letter are f.o.b. values, and we are supplying accordingly. Freight and insurance, therefore, will be additional.
It is our intention to take out a provisional cover for insurance on this shipment, to the value of £2,600 against all risks from London to the Spanish Frontier.
We assume that upon arrival at Le Havre the goods will go forward by Rail and it is, therefore, impracticable to effect insurance beyond the Frontier, although doubtless we could effect this on your behalf if you desire us to do so.
We shall be glad to have your instructions in this connection, at your convenience, and meanwhile, we remain,
yours faithfully,
E. Winstanley
Export Department.
