H.V.Tewson Esq.,
T.U.C. General Council
Transport House,
Smith Square,
S.W.1.
Dear Mr Tewson,
I am sending you particulars of the Sil as I promised you yesterday.
It will arrive in London on or about 15th. June and the agent will be
J.A. Billmeir Co.,
Holland House,
Bury Street, E.C.3.
When it leaves London it will go to Antwerp and its cargo of food, clothes etc. will be transhipped to one of the English boats going to Santander or Asturias.
The Sil is a boat of 250 to 300 tons. If you could give me some indication of the amount of stuff you propose to send it would be a help to me as we want a rough idea of the total amount that various Committees want to embark on this boat.
My Committee is very glad indeed that you were able to use her as we are particularly anxious to give faciliteis to any organisation sending relief to the loyal districts of Santander and Asturias which are very badly off. I will let you know of any such boats in future in case you can again make use of then.
Yours sincerely,
Elisabeth Wilkinson
Hon. Sec.
