With further reference to your letter of the 7th of December, I am attaching herewith an up-to-date list of the Spanish seamen and their dependants for whom Congress is continuing to be financially responsible.
I am unable, at the present time, to give you particulars of the whereabouts of the eight persons named in your letter, but I thought I would send off the attached list at once so that you may see that, to the best of our knowledge, they are not in this country.
I hope it will be possible to let you have more specific information of the kind you require before the end of this month.
