Foreign Office,
S.W.1.
5th December, 1939.
Dear Sir Walter ,
Thank you very much for your letter of the 28th November about Mrs. Gwendolyn Adams [Adams de Puertas].
I will certainly ask our Consul-General at Barcelona to endeavour to secure some information about Mrs. Adams' present circumstances and to do anything he properly can to help her. As you know, Mrs. Adams' Spanish nationality debars us from taking up her case officially but I am sure that our Consul-General will do his best.
Yours sincerely,
Halifax
Sir Walter Citrine, K.B.E.
