Dear Sir
In view of the life and death struggle taking place between the Workers Republic and the forces of fascism, and all that this may imply regarding the position of our own country and even to the future of civilisation itself, I am directed to request that your General Council seriously considers the advisability of sending a workers' deputation to greet our comrades in the U.S.S.R. and to pledge them our full support.
We believe that if this step was taken it would cement the friendship between the peoples of both countries and would open the path for the final overthrow of fascist aggression and its consequent tyranny.
I trust that this request will receive your earnest consideration
Yours sincerely
E Butler (sec)
