In reply to your letter of November 18th you will be gratified to learn that when I read the report which appeared in the Press I lost no time in getting into contact with the appropriate authorities here. You can rest assured that I fully appreciate the urgency of the matter, and that all the influence and power at our disposal will be used to come to the assistance of our old friend Largo Caballero and his colleagues.
