LONDON S.W.1.
Dear Mrs. Adams,
MISS GRACE ETHEL DAWES.
With regard to our approach to the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs with a view to securing permission for Miss Grace Ethel Dawes to travel to Republican Spain in order that she might take up a position as a nurse and governess at one of the Children's Homes, we have today been informed by the Foreign Office that they are prepared to amend Miss Dawes' passport to enable her to take up this position.
In this respect we are requested to inform Miss Dawes that she should call at the Passport Control Office on Monday next, 31st inst., to see Mr. Harrower in whose presence she will be required to complete an official form. Her passport
will be returned to her by Mr. Harrower. Perhaps you will be good enough to instruct Miss Dawes accordingly.
I am returning herewith the other papers relating to this case which you left with us some time ago.
Yours sincerely,
Assistant Secretary.
