Dear Dr. Morgan,
Dr. Miles has just informed me that you have kindly consented to take part in our Deputation to the Prime Minister on
January 7th., if this is to be held in the afternoon.
The deputation will be held in the afternoon, and I am delighted that we may add your name to our list.
It will be led by Lord Cecil and Dr. Gilbert Murray, and among those who have consented to participate are:-
Mr. R.A. Palmer (representing the Co-operative Union)
The Dean of Chichester
Professor Harrad
Professor Tawney.
Professor Seton-Watson
Professor E.R. Dodds
Professor Chapman
Lord Listowel.
Lord Davies.
Mr. St.John Hutchinson, K.C.
Mr. John Goss
The purpose of the deputation is to urge the Prime Minister, before his visit to Rome, to bring pressure to bear upon Signor Mussolini for the withdrawal of all Italian troops and technicians from Spain, and to state categorically that there can be no question of the granting of belligerent rights to General Franco before all foreign troops and technicians are withdrawn from Spain.
As soon as possible I will write to you again sending you full details of the arrangements.
Yours sincerely,
Nancy E. Bell
Secretary, British National Committee
