Dear Mr. Harris,
Situation in the Asturias.
I am in receipt of your letter of the 20th instant, and have been kept fully informed of this position, both by Senor Del Vayo and the Spanish Ambassador. I have also been in contact several times with the Foreign Secretary on the subject. Mr. Ebby Edwards is fully acquainted with what has transpired.
Although I am not able to say anything publicly on the subject, you may be assured that such action as we have taken, has been in the closest co-operation and in fulfilment of the wishes expressed to us on behalf of the Spanish people.
I am sending a copy of your letter to Mr. Edwards.
Yours sincerely,
