Dear Sir Walter,
In reply to your letter of November 9th regarding the reported arrest of two drivers of the Scottish Ambulance Unit, I write to say that our Ambassador at Hendaye has already been requested to obtain news of the welfare of these two men and, in the event of their reported arrest being confirmed, to press for their early release.
I will let you know directly we receive any further news.
