Transport House Smith Square London SW 1
Dear Comrade Citrine,
After sending my letter appealing to you to take action in favour of our Spanish comrades condemned to death, I had a telephone conversation with Comrade Adler, in the course of which he asked me, in order to save time, to send direct from Paris to Comrade Gillies a copy of the letter I sent you to-day so that the Labour Party will be fully informed about the question at the same time as you are.
I sent you this morning an Egyptian daily paper with your photograph. I could not read the paper but I hope you will be more successful than I. I was told by our Egyptian correspondent that this paper, which is called "Al Messa"(The Evening), is a new daily of the Labour Movement or the newly-formed National Trade Union Centre and that the article below your photograph is a biography of yourself.
Yours fraternally
W. Schevenels
General Secretary
