A meeting of the above Committee was held on Tuesday, April 26th, at 6 p.m. in the House of Commons.

1. MINUTES
The Minutes of the meeting held on Thursday, March 31, 1938, were adopted.
2. SPANISH EXHIBITION COMMITTEE
A letter dated April 20, 1938 from the Spanish Exhibition Committee, was read. It made a request that the Spain Campaign Committee should take over the Spanish Exhibition Committee from this Committee, and pay all the debts of the Committee amounting to £53.
It was AGREED that the offer should be declined.
3. ANTI-AIRCRAFT GUNS
A suggestion that money should be raised for the purchase of anti-aircraft guns for the defence of open towns in Democratic Spain, the money to be used to meet other urgent needs of the Spanish people in the event of a refusal of the export licence, was fully discussed.
A vote was taken on the principle that money should be raised for the purchase of anti-aircraft guns. There voted for: 3; Against: 6.
4. MAY DAY
It was AGREED ro [to] recommend that, through a special display in the "Daily Herald", organisers of the May Day Demonstrations
should be requested to make the defence of Democratic Spain a feature of all the speeches and to make collections in aid of Democratic Spain at all Demonstrations.
5. NATIONAL WEEK-END FOR SPAIN
It was AGREED to recommend to the National Executive that the National Labour Party, in co-operation with the Trades Union Congress General Council, should make the week-end May 21-22 a "National Spain Week-end" of Demonstrations in defence of Democratic Spain and of collections to help Democratic Spain; and that in connection with this National Week-end for Spain a Demonstration should be held in the Albert Hall on Sunday, May 22, 1938.
