Sir Walter Citrine,
General Secretary,
Trades Union Congress.
Dear Bro. Citrine,
BASQUE CHILDREN FOR SWANSEA.
I shall be extremely obliged if you can give me the fullest possible particulars regarding the scheme to allocate certain numbers of the Basque Children.
(1) To what extent will it be the responsibility of the Local Authority.
(2) We have established a weekly Collection Scheme in Swansea and up to the present £100 has been sent to the International Solidarity Fund, will we be in order in associating ourselves with the Mayor's Scheme for supporting the 50 Children proposed to be allocated to Swansea, and the money we now collect to be given to the Local Fund.
(3) What will be the responsibility of the International Fund to the maintenance of these Children when allocated.
The Mayor is holding an inaugural Meeting on Monday next, and I would be obliged for a reply in order that our position should be safeguarded.
Yours fraternally,
J.G. Davies
SECRETARY.
