MINUTE OF FINANCE AND GENERAL PURPOSES COMMITTEE
25th October, 1943
32. BASQUE REFUGEES.
A letter, dated 11th October, was read from the National Joint Committee for Spanish Relief pointing out that there are still three hostels in this country for Basque children, four hundred of whom remain here owing to the fact that the repatriation shceme [scheme] has had to be deferred. The General Council were asked to contribute to the funds of the National Joint Committee, which is responsible for the Basque Children's Trust.
IT WAS DECIDED to recommend to the National Council of Labour that a final grant of £300 be made to the National Joint Committee for Spanish Relief from the International Solidarity Fund.
