HOUSE OF COMMONS
17th December, 1937.
Dear Sir Walter,
On behalf of my Committee, and personally, I would like to thank you very sincerely for your further contribution towards the Basque children's fund, resulting from the National Council's special appeal. I note that you wish half of the amount to be devoted to the ordinary work of the Committee and the other £250 to be specially earmarked for Repatriation purposes.
I may say that your contribution comes at a time when it is very welcome, in view of the lowness of our funds and the heavy expenses involved in returning the children to Spain, and we are therefore very grateful to the National Council of Labour for its generosity.
Yours sincerely,
Wilfrid Roberts
