28th January, 1937. 10.45 a.m.
TELEPHONE CALL from Mr. Atlee's Secretary, who said:
Mr. Atlee [ Attlee ] wanted to know what exactly was the position of Labour Party members in regard to the Spanish Medical Aid Committee.
Had Dr. Morgan retired?
I replied that Dr. Morgan had not retired yet. I understood it was wished that he should remain Chairman for the present.
He said: What about Dr. Brook? He had retired.
I said; This was on account of removal, I thought.
What about Dr. Addison?
I replied that Dr. Addison was still the President, but did not attend many meetings, I believed.
I said Dr. Morgan would be in the office about five, would he like him to ring up?
He replied: No, he thought that information was sufficient at the moment.
