THE FATE OF THE GERMAN WORKERS WILL DECIDE THE FATE OF THE WORLD'S WORKERS.
TO SAVE THE GERMAN WORKERS FROM STARVATION AND DESPAIR IS TO RESTORE THE WORLD BATTLE-FRONT OF ADVANCING LABOUR.
If the German Workers sink in a Slough of Despond how long can British Workers keep a foothold on the brink ?
WORKERS! Organise a campaign against the HUNGER of the German Workers.
The International Plutocracy are using the HUNGER of German Workers to make all workers hunger !
The International Workers must save themselves by saving the German Workers.
WORKERS ! Give, Collect, Agitate for the German Famine Relief.
"HE GIVES TWICE
WHO QUICKLY GIVES!"
FAMINE CONTINUES IN GERMANY.
Government Forbids Publication of Famine Figures.
Fearing that the increasing death-rate due to famine conditions will hinder the loan negotiations now proceeding, the German Government has forbidden the publication of statistics of mortality. This brutal endeavour to preserve the government regardless of the fate of the people, has failed; facts are reaching the press in increasing numbers.
Last year infant mortality alone increased 21 per cent. From 50 to 70 per cent. of the children in the cities and industrial districts are suffering from malnutrition. Tuberculosis among school children has increased tenfold. The death-rate from tuberculosis is already 14 per cent. above last year's figure.
The decrease of the birth-rate from 800,000 to 500,000 is accompanied by an increasing number born dead.
More than 5,000,000 unemployed workers and their families are existing wholly upon the governmen dole.
These facts are among those made public by the Federal Council of Churches. As they do not refer exclusively to working class areas they give only an imperfect idea of the distress prevailing.
