Dear Mr. Tewson,
As promised over the telephone this morning we give you herewith extract of letter from the International Brigade Dependants and Wounded Aid Committee sent out on the 21st September covering their appeal for a National Memorial fund:
"My Committee fully appreciates that the unions have given unstintingly towards aid for Spain through the medium of the International Solidarity Fund, but we understand that at Congress Sir Walter Citrine stated that the rules of this Fund permitted unions when sending in their contributions, to ear-mark a proportion of that contribution to any purpose they so desire."
We shall be glad to know at your earliest convenience whether we shall be in order in following the course outlined in the above paragraph.
Yours sincerely,
G. Maurice Hann
GENERAL SECRETARY.
