Dear Mr. Prain,
INTERNATIONAL BRIGADE - DEPENDENTS AND WOUNDED AID COMMITTEE.
I have your letter of the 1st instant regarding the above matter.
The question of a grant for this body from the International Solidarity Fund has been considered by the General Council and in view of the fact that our appeal for Spain was made specifically for Spanish workers, no grant was given, nor did the General Council render any assistance from their general funds.
A fresh approach has, however, been made from the Committee in question, and we are at the moment awaiting further particulars before the matter is given consideration by the General Council.
I am glad to learn that the question of a grant to the International Solidarity Fund will be dealt with by your Executive Committee on the 8th instant, and in view of the state of our fund and the urgent need for further assistance I sincerely hope that they will accord our request a generous response.
