Dear Sir Daniel,
SCOTTISH AMBULANCE UNIT IN SPAIN.
I have your letter of the 3rd instant. Sir Walter is now in the West Indies on a Government Commission and will not be back for some months.
You will understand our present financial difficulties in view of the Czech crisis and the large number of refugees who are coming to this country.   A month ago we sent out still another appeal, this time for the Czech refugees, so that now we are attempting, through our Fund, to deal with the following:-
(a) Relief work in Spain.
(b) Providing relief for people of China.
(c) Maintenance of Basque Children. 
(d) German and Austrian refugees. 
(e), Help for Czechoslovakia.
We are considering the possibility of again approaching our Unions in connection with further assistance for Spain and it is quite likely that a number will not be able to respond until after the end of the financial year.     Our affiliated Organisations have now had five years of these appeals, but we are hoping still to be able to carry on with our work.
I am leaving London on Wednesday next and consequently I am afraid it will not be possible for me to see Miss Brook.   Miss Jacobsen, however, called
