Dear Mr. Tewson,
Thanks for your letter of 23rd.  Your last paragraph gives me fresh hope.
I am not sure if I ever explained to you how we came to apply to the T.U.C.  Mr Dollan who is now our Lord Provost told me that I ought to apply to the Secretaries of the Scottish Trade Union Branches of whom he sent me a list - about 80 of them.  A few sent subscriptions but most replied that my letter ought to have been addressed to Sir Walter Citrine to whom they sent their funds for such purposes, for redistribution. 
The T.U.C. has treated us handsomely in the past and we are grateful with that gratitude which is a lively sense of favours to come.
