Report on International Conference for Medical Aid to Spain

              REPORT ON INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE FOR MEDICAL AID TO SPAIN 
Paris.  July 21 and 22 .1938

Delegates were present from - Argentine, Belgium, Canada, Czechoslovakia, England, France, Holland, India, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, U.S.A., and the ''German Emigres"
Reports were submitted by a delegate from each country showing what had been done, and their future plans.
ARGENTINE.    Concentrating largely on campaign for Ambulances and food.  Planning to send a food ship.
CZECHO-SLOVAKIA.    Has 64 local organisations, with 1136 members and has held 284 meetings and conferences. 29 lorries of food and medical supplies have been sent. A home with 120 Spanish children is being maintained.
ENGLAND. During the past year we have conducted intensive campaigns in England, on behalf of the Spanish Government, and in almost every town there have been held meetings, demonstrations, exhibitions of photographs and posters, dances, concerts and social functions of all descriptions at which speeches have been given and money collected for our funds.  Many towns have organised a " Spain Shop " where Spanish goods (together with others) have been sold.   These have been very successful.
Our work in Spain has gone on without pause but with an alteration in its organisation. Formerly each hospital with which we were associated sent its requisitions to us direct and supplies were sent to them.  Now all our organisation in Spain has been placed under the control of the Sanidad de Guerra, and for the past year, since this change, our co-operation with the Sanidad has been completely satisfactory.    All the hospitals send their requests to our Representative in Barcelona, who gets the approval of the Sanidad before sending them to England, and all our supplies are sent to the Sanidad for distribution wherever they think best.
We have established 19 hospitals in all parts of Government Spain, in addition to numerous front-line hospitals.     At present there are 8 hospitals in which members of the Mision Sanitaria Britanica are working.       With the reorganisation of the hospital services in Catalonia, most of our personnel were moved
