Dear Mr. Hicks,
MEDICAL UNIT FOR SPAIN.
I have your letter of the 26th instant in regard to the appeal which you have received from the Spanish Medical Aid Committee.
It is very regrettable that they are sending out a separate appeal in this and we have to-day had a conversation with the Secretary of the Committee with a view to avoiding this overlapping.
They are now receiving assistance from the International Solidarity Fund and it is, therefore, inadvisable to deflect any donations from our own Fund to their coffers.
We have accepted responsibility for the maintenance of the unit and would suggest that all monies that are available should be forwarded to our main fund which has this responsibility to meet.
Yours sincerely,
General Secretary.
