Dear Mrs. Haldane ASSISTANCE. I am in receipt of your letter of the 31st January enclosing a list of Trade Union members of the British Battalion who lost their lives in the Spanish struggle. I am wondering whether your letter was written without my communication of 3rd January before you in which I explained that I had taken an opportunity which had arisen of bringing your request for assistance before the General Council and notifying you of their decision in all the circumstances.
