INTERNATIONAL BRIGADE DEPENDANTS' FUND
Referring to your letter of the 22nd instant in regard to the above subject, you will be aware that the above Fund is run by an independent Committee with no connections with the Trades Union Congress.
Any subject for consideration by the General Council should come through the Head Office of an affiliated Union, particularly one affecting finance to the extent which yours does.
Certain Unions have made grants to the Fund in question, but a fixed levy is an entirely different matter. Many Unions could only make such levies in accordance with their rules, and probably there might be difficulties in connection with your own organisation in regard to such a proposal.
