Dear Sir Walter,
I have just been informed that you have never received a receipt for the amount of 1102 disbursed by the I.F.T.U. in Paris in connection with our first Medical Unit, and for the purchase of ambulances.
If this is so, I must offer you my deepest apologies for this grave act of discourtesy. The generous donation and assistance was warmly appreciated, and figures prominently in our published Balance Sheet. I am afraid that I can proffer no excuse, but merely an explanation. The work of this Committee was conducted for a long period by voluntary organisation, and inevitably some over-looking must have occured. The present Honorary Secretary and myself have only been appointed during the last few weeks.
I enclose an official receipt form, with the warmest thanks of my Committee for the splendid assistance given us by the I.F.T.U.
Sincerely yours,
George Jeger
Organising Secretary.
