Dear Sir Walter,
I beg to acknowledge receipt of a letter sent by Mr. Tewson in connection with the International Brigade Association, and thank him very sincerely for the trouble he has taken in placing the matter clearly before this Office.
It will be for our Executive Council to decide as to whether the money which they have as a balance from a fund raised on behalf of the International Brigade, can be used and dealt with in the manner suggested by Mr. Tewson.
I might add at once that we had never sent any remittances to France for this purpose, either before or since the outbreak of war. It is quite evident there will be a great deal of difficulty in connection with sending anything from this country.
Yours sincerely, for the ELECTRICAL TRADES UNION.
Robert Prain
Asst. General Secretary.
