Dear Sir and Brother,
INTERNATIONAL BRIGADE.
Our Edinburgh District Committee has forwarded to us copy of a Circular letter of appeal on behalf of the International Brigade at present in Concentration Camps in France, which they have received from the Edinburgh District Trades Council with the request that my Executive Council should make a grant towards this fund and approach the appropriate Government Department with a view to representations being made to the French Government to secure the release of these Internees.
My Executive Council direct me to ask whether or not your Council has at present any fund on behalf of these Internees to which we might contribute and your observations in relation to suggested representations for the release, would also be appreciated.
Yours fraternally,
p.p. FRED A. SMITH
GENERAL SECRETARY
