RAY COX MEMORIAL.
Thank you for your letters of 1st and 2nd April, and also 3rd April (just received) from which I am pleased to note that an Anaesthetic apparatus will be welcome in the Madrid Hospital as a Memorial to Ray Cox of Southampton.
I note from yours of 3rd April that you now feel a British apparatus would be superior, and that you will have two estimates in your possession early this week. I spoke to Dr. Sakoshansky this morning (before receiving yours re the British apparatus), and after consulting a local Anaesthetist, he expressed the opinion that the American apparatus - McKessons - was the best, but the price would be about £90. However, if your advice is that a British Machine at £50 - £60 is quite efficient for the work, we will leave it to you to decide through your Dr. Morgan.
With regard to the plate which would be affixed to the apparatus I think the wording - " The Ray Cox (Southampton) Memorial Apparatus ", would be best, as I feel it should be shown that the apparatus is a memorial to Ray Cox of Southampton.
With reference to the cost of the apparatus, we have already issued an appeal for £40 - £50, but
