AID FOR SPAIN
With reference to your letter of the 8th April, regarding the ambulance for the Amalgamated Weavers' Association, I am glad to inform you that, as arranged in our telephone conversation of the 31st March, I have ordered an ambulance, which is costing 46,500 Belgian francs (equivalent to roughly 34,875 Frenoh francs). The sum of £500 is equivalent to about 53,500 French francs, so that we will use the outstanding remainder to purchase as muoh equipments, stretchers, etc., for the ambulance as possible, making up the total expended to £500.
Anaesthetic Apparatus:
We are in complete agreement with your suggestion that the apparatus itself shall be bought in London and sent to us in Paris. If possible, we should be glad to have it before the 24th April, as a large convoy is leaving Paris for the Onteniente hospital on that date, and the apparatus could be taken with it.
All the other supplies necessary for the apparatus will be bought in Paris and can be taken down at the same time with the convoy of the 24th April.
A tablet will be affixed to the ambulance, stating that it is the gift of the Amalgamated Weavers' Association of Great Britain, and it will then be
