Dear Mr. Shanley,
VOLUNTARY INDUSTRIAL AID.
We thank you for your letter of 5th May, in which you indicate that your Executive are in agreement with the proposals of the Voluntary Industrial Aid, and are willing that any of your members should help, on the condition, as stated in your telephone message this afternoon, that no profit accrues to anyone or any organisation.
We specially note the observations contained in the last paragraph of your letter, and are much indebted to your Executive for the sympathetic attitude they have adopted.
Yours faithfully,
General Secretary.
