Dear Friends,
We are making a special appeal for further and increased assistance to the work of our Committee. The growing numbers of the British volunteers in Spain; the intensity of the fighting in the past two months have increased our obligations both in aid to the wounded and in the number of dependants we have to maintain.
The following pages will give you some small indication of the tremendous service the International Brigade has given in the cause of democracy, freedom and peace.
During the past two months the demand on our resources has increased by £150 a week. We confidently request your support for this special appeal and continued help in the future; help which cannot be withheld until the forces of Fascism have been driven out of Spain.
Yours sincerely,
CHARLOTTE HALDANE
(Hon. Secretary).
