THE NATIONAL COUNCIL OF LABOUR met in the TRADES UNION CONGRESS BOARD ROOM, Transport House, Smith Square, London, S.W.1., on Wednesday, September 30th.

125.      THE SPANISH  SITUATION: 
It was reported that a Joint Meeting of the General Council of the International Federation of Trade Unions and the Executive Committee of the Labour and Socialist International had been held in Paris, on September 28th, 1936, at the request of the Spanish Trade Union movement when Messrs George Hicks M.P. Arthur Hayday, M.P., and W.J. Bolton, on behalf of the General Council of the Trades Union Congress, and Messrs: George Dallas, and William Gillies, on behalf of the Executive Committee of the Labour Party, had attended.
Mr. Hicks reported at length on the discussions, and documents including Resolutions and a report upon the administration of the International Solidarity Fund, were circulated.  (See Appendix I).
The Report was supplemented by Mr. Dallas and Mr. Gillies; and Mr. Hallsworth, who had also been in attendance at the meeting, concurred with the statements that had been made.
It was further reported that members of the Council had had consultations with Messrs. Dobbie, M.P. and Seymour Cocks, M.P., upon their recent visit to Spain, and the evidence
