Dear Mr. Pole,
GOODS FOR SPAIN.
I have deferred acknowledging your letter of the 27th November until I was in a position to report in connection with the next consignment we are sending to Spain.
I may say that on Friday last we asked for estimates for the biggest consignment of goods we have ever sent direct from this country to Spain. We are anxious to render the greatest possible assistance around Christmas time and we are ordering goods to the value of approximately £6,000. Almost the entire balance of our Fund is being used in this way and for your information the consignment will be made up as follows:-
Yellow Soap ... £750
Carbloic Soap ... £250
Milk ... £3,000
Dried Fish ... £1,000
The balance to be spent will be made up of Ships biscuits and a very large quantity of Cod Liver Oil which is made necessary on account of the low vitamin content of the food which children are receiving. This is the first time we have sent
