HELP FOR SPAIN.
You will remember that, prior to the publication of your circular issued to the Movement in regard to Christmas gifts for Spain, I expressed to you and to Mr. Gillies my profound disappointment that appeals for still another fund were being made at the instigation of your Spain Committee.
When the "Milk for Spain Fund" was set up, whilst it was felt that the close co-operation in the work of the International Solidarity Fund had, to some extent, been abrogated, it was appreciated that there were special circumstances in connection with this matter and that finally the International Solidarity Fund would be credited with the amount so raised and that all the milk sent would be received and distributed through the machinery of the International Solidarity Fund.
The new scheme which is being operated through the Spanish ambassador does not possess the features referred to above in regard to the "Milk for Spain Fund".
