HELP FOR THE SPANISH WORKERS: CIR.NO.131(1935-36).
Referring to the fund set up under the auspices of the International Federation of Trade Unions and the Labour and Socialist International for the relief of the victims of the civil war in Spain, and to which this Union contributed the sum of £500 in response to the appeal sent out by the National Council of Labour in July last; I have been approached for a grant to be made to the fund established by the International Transportworkers' Federation.  In this connection I have pointed out that the best course to adopt would be for the whole of the amounts collected to be handled through the International Federation of Trade Unions.
I am somewhat surprised, however, to learn that so far as any victims of the railway and transport workers in Spain are concerned that no assistance has yet been forthcoming from the International Federation of Trade Unions.
In order that the whole position should be cleared up I have obtained from the International Transportworkers' Federation full particulars as to the enquiries which have been made respecting the position and I cannot do better than enclose the original circular letter (Rev.Sp.) and the most recent letter which I have
