1st April, 1939.
To Members of the Executive.
Dear Comrades,
As decided in the IFTU Executive Meeting of the 29th and 30th March in London, we have called a Conference of the International Trade Secretariats to be held on the 11th April in the offices of the International Federation of Employees in Public and Civil Services, 10 rue de Solferino. We enclose herewith the official invitation sent to the ITS.
After the London meeting, some of the Members of the Executive asked us whether it was necessary to be present at this ITS Conference, and I replied that - as in similar ITS Conferences previously held -their presence was not absolutely indispensable. It is, of course, understood that Members of the Executive who desire to attend the Conference have full liberty to do so. As a matter of fact, we should be very grateful to them if they could find the time to be present. We should be obliged if you could let us know your intentions in advance.
Looking forward to your reply, I remain
fraternally yours,
W. Schevenels,
General Secretary.
Comrade
Walter M. Citrine,
London
