SHIPMENTS FROM GREAT BRITAIN.
In addition to money forwarded to the International Solidarity Fund in Paris, consignments have been sent direct to Spain since 31st May last, the date on which the lists of commodities shewn in the Blackpool Congress Report were closed, on the following dates: 23rd June; 4th August (National Union of Boot & Shoe Operatives); 12th October; 2nd November; 2nd December; 21st December; and 5th January, 1939. The total of goods so sent is:
750 tons potatoes
100 " sugar
124 " soap
215 " milk powder
(120 of which from "Milk for Spain" Fund)
93 tons dried fish
3 " biscuits
70 tons beans
50 " flour
25 " condensed milk
1,000 gallons cod liver oil
7,600 pairs children's sandals
3,600 " " socks
270 " strong shoes
sewing and knitting materials.
The total value of the above consignments was £22,850.3.11 (including £6,000 from "Milk for Spain" Fund).
