RESOLUTION ON THE FOOD COMMISSION
The International Executive Commission of the International Committee of Co-ordination and Information for Aid to Republican Spain, convened in Paris on the 1st and 2nd of December 1938;
greets the unparalleled growth of humanitarian aid to the civilian population of Spain achieved in all countries throughout
the world;
however, faced with the present grave situation in Republican Spain, due to the influx of over three million refugees, the continuous bombardment of foodships in Spanish ports and the systematic destruction of harvests, which demands redoubled efforts to provide the civilian population of Spain with the essential food;
unanimously decides the creation of an INTERNATIONAL FOOD COMMISSION FOR THE CIVILIAN POPULATION OF SPAIN, such decision having been taken in full agreement with the Spanish Government and its National Aid Committee, with the humanitarian aim to intensify, enlarge and co-ordinate all efforts in aid of Spain.
To accomplish this urgent task affectively, the FOOD COMMISSION cordially invites all political, religious or philosophical groups to join their efforts with the great humanitarian, cultural and trade-union organisations already co-operating within the FOOD COMMISSION, and to delegate a representative to enter the FOOD COMMISSION or to co-operate in the co-ordination of all common efforts.
