INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY FUND.
It will be remembered that when the Finance and General Purposes Committee were giving consideration to the Blackpool Congress resolution on arms for Spain it was recommended that a circular should be sent to affiliated Unions drawing their attention to the five proposals put forward at Congress regarding aid for Spain and asking what steps they had taken or proposed to take to implement these suggestions.     This recommendation was accepted by the General Council who also decided that enquiry should be made as to the extent of Union grants to funds other than the International Solidarity Fund.     A circular was sent to all affiliated Unions on 30th November, 1938.
To date 55 Unions have replied.     The attached forms give the names of these Unions;    the amounts subscribed since the issuing of the circular,    the amounts subscribed from 1933-36;    the amounts donated from 1936 (when the Fund for Spain was opened)  to December 1938, contributions made to Internationals and other bodies, the total of the contributions made, and information as to steps which have been, or are proposed to be taken to raise further funds, and a list of Unions who have sent in donations since the issuing of the circular of 30th November, but have not replied to questions.
