Mr. A. G. Forsyth,
General Secretary,
The South African Trades and Labour Council,
Trades Hall,
Kerk Street,
Johannesburg,
SOUTH AFRICA.
Dear Mr. Forsyth,
HELP FOR THE WORKERS OF SPAIN.
Very many thanks for your letter of the 2nd November enclosing Bank Draft for £250 from Unions in South Africa in aid of the above Fund.
The Fund being raised in this country is, of course, forwarded to the International Solidarity Fund which is jointly administered by a Joint Committee of the International Federation of Trade Unions and the Labour and Socialist International. I shall, therefore, forward your contribution to Mr. Schevenels in Paris who is Secretary of the Fund.
In order to avoid any complications, however, I am forwarding to you our official receipt for the money and I will inform Mr. Schevenels that this has been done.
May I, as President of the International Federation of Trade Unions, express the appreciation of that body for this very tangible expression of goodwill towards the Spanish workers.
With all good wishes,
Yours sincerely,
General Secretary.
