Dear Sir Walter Citrine,
I am writing to ask if it would be possible for our Women's Committee to have grants from the International Solidarity Fund for the purchase of wool for knitting garments for Spain.
As you know, we have sent already two consignments of handknitted garments, and we will have enough for a third despatch when we are able to hear of a ship going to Spain.
There is tremendous enthusiasm among our women to give service by knitting garments especially among those who cannot make further financial contributions.
In addition to the knitted garments we have received in response to our appeal, we have had about £220 for the purchase of wool. Most of this has already been spent on wool and distributed to our knitting parties.
Up to the end of last year we concentrated our appeal for knitting parties in London, but with the L.C.C. elections at hand we have now got several knitting parties organised in
