Miss Nancy Adams,

Dear Miss Adams,
I am enclosing for your information a summary of some recent reports on the conditions of Spanish refugee and orphan children. The National Women's Commission which has been established by the Spanish Government has undertaken the responsibility for providing for the orphans of the war, but they have to do this in a land davastated by months of aerial bombardment. They cannot plan for the winter unless they can rely on receiving from abroad the essential supplies of food, clothing and sanitary and educational materials. I am therefore writing to ask for your support for an appeal to the women of Great Britain. I may say that already a number of donations have been earmarked for this appeal and we anticipate a very favourable response.
A draft appeal is enclosed and I should be glad to receive permission to append your name.
Yours sincerely,
Isabel Brown.
