Secretary' s
WMC/FEM/MT/990
23rd June, 1938.
Mr. E. Edwards,
Mineworkers' Federation of Great Britain,
50, Russell Square,
LONDON, W.C.1.
Dear Mr. Edwards,
ASTURIAN MINERS' ORPHANS, ETC.
Thank you for your letter of the 22nd June, informing me that your Federation has appointed a sub-committee to deal with the allocation of money collected for the Asturian Miners' orphans, etc.
I note that you would like our Chairman and myself to meet your sub-committee to discuss this matter. We shall be very pleased to do so.
With regard to dates, I am wondering if another date other than the 30th June would be equally convenient to your Committee. I have to speak that day at the Conference of the National Federation of Building Trades Operatives at Hastings. I was invited there for several days but I shall only be able to attend on the one day. Mr. Elvin, our Chairman, will also be away on that date.
I am wondering, therefore, if any of the following dates would be equally convenient to you -
Monday, 27th June, at 3 p.m.
Monday, 4th July, at 11 a.m.
Tuesday 5th July, at 11 a.m.
