INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY FUND - GOODS FOR SPAIN.
We desire to send approximately £3,000 worth of food and goods to Spain. The amount is to be divided as follows:-

Full cream powdered milk..........1,200.
Children's sandals................ 700.
Dried cod......................... 900.
Soap.............................. 200.
The above amounts are approximate according to the round quantities which would be supplied.

I take it that quotations will be obtained for delivery direct to Cerbere.
Children's Sandals.
I believe that this matter was talked over with you by Senor Santiago and Mrs. Adams when they came to Manchester. Mrs. Adams informs me that you have a cheap sandal with a leather sole. I have found, however, that the sandals supplied by the C.W.S. with crepe soles at prices round about 2/- have proved very successful in Basque Children's Homes in this country. We find that the soles outlast the uppers and are certainly more serviceable than leather soles.
As they would have difficulty in repairing leather soles in Spain owing to the shortage of leather it does seem advisable that the crepe rubber soles should be sent. The kind I have in mind have a leather sole
