SPAIN CAMPAIGN COMMITTEE
Dear Secretary,
The Annual Conference of the Party held at Bournemouth instructed the National Executive to undertake a nation-wide campaign forthwith to compel the Government to abandon the Non-intervention Agreement and to restore to the elected and constitutional Government of Spain its freedom to purchase arms.
The National Executive Committee have already taken steps to organise an intensive campaign of Demonstrations and Collections for a "Milk for Spain" Fund between now and Christmas. A Spain Campaign Committee, responsible to the National Executive, has been constituted and is composed of: Sir Stafford Cripps, M.P., Joseph Henderson, M P.. Stanley Hirst, James Walker, M.P., and Ellen Wilkinson, M.P., with George Dallas as Chairman.
This Committee was given the authority to co-opt other members of the Party who are able and willing to give the Committee the benefit of their advice and co-operation. Amongst those who have been invited, the following have already accepted the invitation to join the Committee: Captain H. Beaumont, Councillor Tom Braddock, Viscount Corvedale, Alderman W. Dobbie, M.P., G.T. Garratt, D.R. Grenfell, M.P., James Griffiths, M.P., John Jagger, M.P., Dr. S.W. Jeger, Dr. H. B. Morgan, E. Shinwell, M.P., Vincent Tewson, George Wansbrough, and Miss Sybil Wingate.
Secretaries: William Gillies and Ellen Wilkinson.
Appeal.
The accompanying Appeal has already been published.

The following Demonstrations have been arranged under the direct auspices of the Spain Campaign Committee :—
November 14 ..................................... Manchester.
November 21 ..................................... Edinburgh.
November 28 ..................................... Birmingham.
November 28 ..................................... Swansea and Newport.
December 5 ....................................... Leeds.
December 12 ..................................... Bristol.
December 12 ..................................... Newcastle.
December 19 ..................................... London.
Other Meetings.
Parties in other localities are earnestly requested to co-operate in the Campaign by organising Meetings within their own areas, and are invited to make application to the Head Office for Speakers.
Speakers will be allocated to Parties for these Meetings on the understanding that all costs, including all necessary travelling and hospitality expenses, are met locally.
"MILK FOR SPAIN!"
Immediate Party Meeting.
This Campaign has been devised to give a new stimulus to the Party action for Food, Freedom and Justice for Democratic Spain at what may prove to be a decisive moment for the Spanish Working-class and Democracy in Europe. It will be associated with a new, original and striking method of raising money for "Milk for Spain." This plan will ensure that the propaganda efforts which we are asking you to undertake will have the maximum of effectiveness.
The co-operation of your Party in this plan raises problems of initiative and organisation which call for immediate consideration and action. You are requested to call together at once a meeting of Party members, or, at any rate, your Committee, with a view to making arrangements for a well-organised and widespread distribution of leaflets, undertaken with a willingness and enthusiasm worthy of the cause.
